Consumer Reports has identified 10 years of the NIssan Rogue to avoid.  The Rogue hit the market in 2008 as Nissan's top crossover and has become Nissan's top seller.  When it's in tip top shape, the Rogue can be an excellent vehicle, however, not every model year has been built to last, so it's important to know what to llook out for.  Here are the Rogue years to avoid to ensure you get only the highest quallity models.

 

Quickly, the answer is to avoid model years 2008-2016 and 2018.  Most of the Rogue models have some significant defects,  mainly with their CVT transmissions.  The only Rogues that have had very few complaints are specifically 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021.  Consumer Reports recommends avoiding Rogues manufactured from 2008 - 2016 and 2018.

 

TOYOTA RECALL 

 

Toyota is recalling 2022 and 2023 Tundra trucks with the V35A engine that may have machining debris contamination and could lose power while driving.  The recall affects around 100,000 gasoline powered Tundras pickups, but not hybrid models.  Toyota has determined that the main bearings can seize requiring engine replacement.  Customers will be notified starting July, 2024

 

FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION RULING - AUGUST, 2024

 

The FTC  has fined CarShield $10 million to settle charges that it's advertisements for it's extended auto warranty plans are deceptive and misleading.  Many customers found that their repair  claims were often not covered despite making payments of $120 monthly.  In addition, the FTC said CarShields celebrity and consumer endorsers made false statements in their ads.  CarShield used trusted celebrities to deliver empty promises exploiting consumer's confidence for CarShield's gain.
